Dolphins
It’s hard not to smile when you see dolphins racing alongside the boat. These curious and playful creatures love to swim in the boat’s wake and often put on quite a show. Bottlenose dolphins are the ones you’ll spot most often around Miami, and they seem to enjoy the excitement of a charter just as much as we do.
Sea Turtles
There’s something magical about spotting a sea turtle gliding gracefully through the blue water. Miami’s coastline is home to loggerhead, green, and hawksbill turtles. They’re more common in the warmer months, especially when nesting season rolls around, so keep your eyes peeled.
Flying Fish
Don’t be surprised if you see small flashes of silver darting above the surface. Those are flying fish, tiny marvels that can glide long distances over the water to escape predators. They’re quick, graceful, and always a fun surprise to see mid-journey.
Birds
Pelicans, frigatebirds, and gulls are often circling overhead, keeping an eye on schools of fish below. If you see a flurry of bird activity nearby, that’s usually a good sign that fish are feeding in the area, and it might be time to cast your line!
The Big Game
Of course, the real stars of your trip are the ones you’ll find on the other end of your line. Miami’s deep waters are home to colorful mahi-mahi, sleek kingfish, strong tuna, and even the legendary sailfish, known for their speed and stunning leaps out of the water. Each catch brings its own burst of excitement and bragging rights.
Manatees and Rays
Before you even hit deep waters, you might spot a manatee floating peacefully or see a stingray gliding through the shallows. They’re calm, slow-moving, and a beautiful contrast to the energy of the open ocean.
