Tuna Fishing

The most common type of Tuna that we encounter aboard the THERAPY-IV is the Blackfin Tuna, but on occasion we may also see Yellowfin Tuna. Blackfin Tuna season in South Florida occurs in the spring, while Yellowfin Tuna can be caught on rare occasion during the late winter and spring. The Blackfin Tuna range from 15-35 pounds.

The THERAPY-IV fish for tuna by trolling and live bait fishing. When trolling, the smaller and medium size Tuna like to feed on feathers, spoons, lures and baits such as ballyhoo. When live-bait fishing we have found that tuna like to feed on live Pilchards, Herring and chunks of cut-up bait. Many other varieties of fish are caught at the same time as Tuna Fishing off of Miami and Miami Beach, since we do not specifically fish for Tuna and they are usually caught while fishing for other varieties of fish. Sailfish, Marlin, Dolphin, Wahoo, Barracuda and other varieties of fish can be caught while Tuna Fishing.

The captain and the crew aboard the THERAPY-IV are experienced in all of our local fishing methods including special techniques for our local tuna fishing. Capt. Stan has over 40 years of Miami fishing experience. The THERAPY-IV Deep Sea fishing charter boats are two, big, gorgeous air-conditioned charter fishing boats that offer deep-sea fishing in 1st class luxury and style. They also feature the best fishing tackle including great fishing rods, reels and kites. Deep Sea fishing in the Atlantic Ocean off of Miami is exciting because of the great variety of big fish and bottom fish that can be caught.
