Trying to decide what boat to charter for deep sea fishing or a group event can feel just like navigating uncharted waters, you never know what to expect. We wanted to give you some pointers on what to look for to make your decision easier whether you decide to spend the day with us onboard the THERAPY-IV or any other of the sportfishing boats that fish these South Florida waters.
Half day or full day charter
Not a seasoned fisherman just yet? Try a half-day charter here in Miami as we are only 2 minutes away from the ocean and less than 10 minutes from fishing. Being only 2 miles from the Gulfstream has its perks.
Half-day charters usually last about 4 hours, which is more than enough time to land some great fish. Most boats offer a morning sail and an afternoon one. The THERAPY-IV offers one from 8:00am to 12:00 noon or from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Night fishing can also be arranged for groups that are interested.
If a half-day just doesn’t cut it for you try a full day excursion and you might be able to fish multiple locations and try your hand at catching more species of fish.
Shared charters
Most charter boats in Miami offer both shared and private experiences. THERAPY-IV is well known for its shared yacht charters and is the only charter boat in Miami that does fill-in service. This means that if your party is less than 6, which is the capacity of our boats, we fill-in the rest and don’t charge you for any empty seats.
Private charters

Corporate Day at Sea
It’s hard to describe the feeling of reeling in a beautiful Shark, Sailfish or Marlin, it’s kind of like landing that client you have been after for months and finally closed. Having a corporate day at sea is a great way to relax, have fun and build relationships with your team. We have been working with some companies for many years and it is always fun to see who catches the bigger fish, the rookie or the boss. For large corporate groups we can organize multiple boats and a fishing tournaments between them.
Charters for large groups
When it comes to large groups the THERAPY-IV fleet is a great solution. Whether you need 2 boats or 30 boats we can coordinate any group outing.
What should be included in your charter?
With your charter you will get rods, reels, bait, tackle and Florida Fishing License all included in you trip. We are a fully licensed fleet that has been running charters in Miami for 40 years.
Wheelchair accessible fishing
The THERAPY-IV fleet is equipped to handle wheelchairs. We have provided once in a lifetime experiences to those that use wheelchairs and have trusted us with their day out at sea. Check out our Daily Catch section to see some examples.
